COMAS Machine Operator
3rd Shift (11pm - 7am)
Summary
Dessert Holdings is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our cheesecake production team on 3rd shift. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting COMAS production equipment to ensure ingredients are accurately measured and dispensed according to established product specifications. The operator will also monitor equipment performance, verify product weights, and maintain accurate production and quality control records.
**Previous machine operating experience in a food manufacturing environment is required. Training on the specific COMAS equipment will be provided.**
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor COMAS equipment used in cheesecake production.
- Adjust and calibrate machine settings to ensure accurate ingredient measurements, weights, and dispensing quantities.
- Verify ingredient weights and machine settings to ensure products meet established specifications.
- Perform routine quality and weight checks throughout the production process.
- Accurately complete required production documentation, including Critical Control Point (CCP) records, as applicable.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues, incorrect measurements, and production inconsistencies.
- Promptly communicate equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or deviations from established specifications to supervision.
- Follow established procedures for machine adjustments, product quality, food safety, and sanitation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production area.
- Collaborate with Production teams to support production efficiency and product quality.
- Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous machine operating experience in a food manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience setting up, adjusting, or calibrating automated production equipment.
- Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and verify ingredients or finished products.
- Basic math skills and ability to follow production specifications.
- Experience completing production records, quality checks, or equipment documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in machine performance or product quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established food safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills, dependability, and accountability.
- Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating automated filling, depositing, mixing, or portioning equipment.
- Previous experience in bakery, dessert, dairy, or similar food manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety documentation.
- Previous experience with COMAS or similar automated food production equipment.
